Biography - Leigh Wintz
Soroptimist
 Leigh Wintz, CAE, has served as executive director of Soroptimist International of the Americas since 1991. She is responsible for the overall operation and services provided by Soroptimist. Hired to implement a new organizational strategic plan, Wintz assisted in the total restructuring of Soroptimist International of the Americas' governance system.
Leigh has been a charter member of the Center City, Philadelphia, Soroptimist club since 1996. She is a professional registered parliamentarian (PRP), and earned designation as a Certified Association Executive (CAE) from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) in 1992. In 2004, Wintz was elected chair-elect of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Board of Directors. She will become chairman of the board of directors in January 2006. She has also served on the board of directors of ASAE from 1997 to 2000, and is a volunteer for several service organizations, such as the Easter Seal Society, the General Federation of Women's Clubs, and Operation Smile.
Prior to her work with Soroptimist, Wintz served as president of Health Management Resources, Inc., in Falls Church, Virginia. Her background also includes serving as executive director of the General Federation of Women's Clubs in Washington, D.C., and as administrative director of patient services for Prince George's Hospital in Cheverly, Maryland. Wintz received a bachelor's degree in nursing and a master's degree in administration from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
